Primus was developed as a modular lighting system based on a single geometric component that can be combined into larger lighting compositions.
The project explored how simple polygonal luminaires could form dynamic ceiling installations while maintaining visual consistency and manufacturing efficiency. Individual modules may function independently or be grouped into custom arrangements adapted to different architectural spaces.
The concept focused on three key principles:
modularity and scalability;
clean geometric aesthetics;
flexibility of installation.
By combining identical units into larger compositions, designers can create unique lighting layouts for residential, commercial and public interiors without requiring custom production for every project.
The system was conceived as an early exploration of mass customization in lighting design, where variation emerges from arrangement rather than from manufacturing different products.
